On this 60-90 minute tour in the Old Town, you travel back to the dark past of the witch hunt. Over 400 years ago, the Witchcraft Act prevailed here and in the 200 years, around 3800 people are accused of witchcraft; around 2500 of them killed. In 2022, the then head of government Nicola Sturgeon formally apologized to the women who were accused and killed of witchcraft 400 years ago.
